Boulder Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation

Boulder Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation

Tweet ThisLast week I decided that I will start posting a few photos of the mountains around the Boulder and Denver area. I am starting to take my camera with me everywhere as I am constantly enamored with the changing mountain views.

The first photograph below is a good example. It’s the view from the inside second aisle at Columbine Unity Church. I took the photograph yesterday just before the morning service began. The minister’s podium is just to the right of the image.

Estes Park Colorado: A Mountain Wonderland at 7,522 Feet Above Sea Level

Estes Park Colorado: A Mountain Wonderland at 7,522 Feet Above Sea Level

Estes ParkTweet ThisOn Sunday my wife Hannele and I drove from Boulder up to Estes Park. It took us about 45 minutes along Highway 36 including a couple of stops along the way. Estes Park is an incredibly beautiful mountain town set in a valley surrounded by snowcapped mountain peaks up to 14,000 feet high.

The town sits near the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. We usually spend our time in the park or hiking the area around town when we go there. But on Sunday, we spent the afternoon visiting the many shops in the center of Estes Park town. We did some Christmas shopping and had a great time just walking around.

The slide show below is mostly photographs of the Estes Park downtown area. There is a warm and cozy feeling to the town center. It’s a great place to visit, especially this time of year. And the amazing thing is that it’s an easy drive to Estes Park from Boulder or Denver area. It’s truly a magical mountain town right in the backyard of Denver Metro.

Our day ended at the Kind Coffee shop, an eco-friendly coffee shop at the edge of the downtown area. After a nice hot cup of chai tea, we headed back down to Boulder.

I hope you enjoy the photos of Estes Park. You can click here to visit the official Estes Park visitor website.

Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation

Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation

Tweet ThisI love living in Colorado partly because I never get tired of looking up. The mountains here are such a joy to behold. It’s much more than what I see that moves me. It’s what I feel when I look at them. I feel many things but inspired and motivated are at the top of the list. And I enjoy sharing that with others. For those of you who may have seen a few of my post, you know I use mountain photos quite often.

With changing light and weather patterns, there is always something different to see and feel. If the phrase, “a picture is worth a thousand words” applies to anything, then it applies to photographs of the Colorado mountains. The pictures themselves can bring on a joyous uplifting feeling.

So I decided to start a regular post on Mondays called, well, you probably guessed it, Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation. I hope that’s not too corny. I am open to suggestions if anyone would like to chime in.

Anyway, here are three mountain photos I took this past week in the area around Boulder.

Enjoy, in joy…

Boulder Colorado Into The Wind: The Ultimate Kite Store

Boulder Colorado Into The Wind: The Ultimate Kite Store

Into The WindTweet ThisHere in Boulder Colorado along the Front Range the wind is often a force to be reckoned with. Most of the time the air is fairly calm but occasionally wind gusts can reach up to 50mph or more.

Early spring and late fall seem to be the time when it picks up the most as high and low pressure systems are shifting over the Rockies causing wind storms along the Front Range that can go on for hours at a time.

With this in mind, it’s easy to understand why Into The Wind, one of the greatest kite stores in the world, was born here in Boulder 29 years ago. Founded by architects George Emmons and Jim Glass, the store has produced countless kite designs over the years and become a landmark for many who live here.

Into The Wind has one of the largest kite selections anywhere including a wide variety of traditional kites and stunt kites in addition to all types of kite making, repair and accessory items. Their product line has expanded over the years to include a large selection of fun toys such as flying discs, games, footbags, and more. Their line of wind art products includes wind chimes, flags, banners, windsocks, and hanging spinners.

Into The Wind’s retail outlet is easily the most fun store on Pearl Street Mall in downtown Boulder. You can go there almost any time of day on any given day of the week and see a wide range of customers from young children to adults all having fun. The store has something for everyone.

The next time you find yourself near downtown Boulder, consider stopping by Into The Wind. The store is located at 1408 Pearl Street right on the mall. You can also visit their website at IntoTheWind.com to view and order many of their products.

SHIFT: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times, By Gary Keller

SHIFT: How Top Real Estate Agents Tackle Tough Times, By Gary Keller

Give the Gift of ShiftTweet the SHIFTGary Keller has done it again. The real estate guru and esteemed author of ‘Millionaire Real Estate Agent' and ‘Millionaire Real Estate Investor’ is releasing a limited edition Hardcover copy of his most successful books yet titled ‘SHIFT.’

Not a moment too late, 'SHIFT' addresses the dynamics of radically changing market conditions in the real estate industry. The book begins with an overview of the recurring pattern of real estate business cycles nested one within the other.

The periodic nature of seasonal cycles is the one agents are most familiar with—sales tend to peak during summer months and drop during the winter months. Economic cycles are longer and less predictable. Both seasonal and economic cycles are governed the flux of inventory and income triggering a SHIFT from one type of market to another—buyers, sellers or balanced.

Give the Gift of ShiftChanging market conditions can make or break a real estate agent’s career. The capacity to stay in the game and move beyond mere surviving toward thriving is dependent on the agent’s ability to persevere during tough times until the market stabilizes and then adapt to the new economic conditions.

'SHIFT' is a virtual tool box for real estate agents who are ready and willing to do what it takes to succeed. 'SHIFT' lays out 12 tactics for navigating radically changing market conditions. It's a must have for real estate agents eager to achieve their best.

In coming days, I review a select set of the twelve tactics to provide some additional insight to the timely value of this book and the wisdom it reveals.

Meanwhile, if you want more than reviews and you’d like to purchase the book, then go to http://giftofshift.com/activerain now.

There are also many restaurants that serve healthy food with a good feeling in terms of the atmosphere inside. But the really great restaurants in Boulder are the ones that combine character with great healthy food and a great atmosphere.

The Falafel King is among the great ones in Boulder.

Located on the Pearl Street Mall directly across from the Boulder County courthouse, the Falafel King has been a landmark in downtown Boulder for 29 years. Its character is ingrained in the setting inside. It’s not fancy and it’s not modern. It is simple, comfortable and warm. Simply put, the atmosphere feels as good as the food tastes.

Many selectionsSince its beginning in 1980, Falafel King has expanded to include three Denver locations. Additionally, they are now selling their trademark humus and salad mixes in grocery stores and health food stores throughout Denver Metro.

Falafel King upholds its original commitment to healthier, organic ingredients in the foods they prepare. With a focus on Mediterranean cuisine, the menu includes fresh garden vegetables, seasoned salads, a variety of humus mixes and gyros, which is special serving of slow cooked roasted lamb or beef.

But the flagship product is falafel, a mix of garbanzo beans, fresh vegetables and spices that are deep fried to perfection and served with fresh tahini sauce. Falafels are traditionally served as a sandwich in pocket bread or as a salad with an assortment of fresh vegetables and humus. Regardless of how it is served, falafel is a wholesome and healthy meal.

Why Build Green Homes?

Why Build Green Homes?

Green HomeThe presentation below by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) provides a simple and direct summary of answers to the question: Why Build Green Homes?

By looking at the impact of buildings and homes on natural resources in contrast to the benefits of using green practices and products the answer becomes apparent. These factors help explain the growing demand for green homes.

Consumer awareness of social and environmental issues is at an all time high. As more information about the benefits of green homes becomes more available, the green home market including commercial, corporate, institutional, and residential is poised to explode.

What do you think? Are you concerned about the environmental impact of homes and buildings? Did you know that buildings emit more CO2 emissions than transportation vehicles? Are the lower costs of operation and health benefits of green homes important to you?

Please leave a comment or two. I would really like to know your thoughts and feelings on this important subject.

If you or someone you know are thinking about buying or selling a home in Boulder or Denver area, I can help. I know the area and the market well, and I can help you find a home that suits your needs and interest.

Denver Colorado Economic & Market Update November 2009

Denver Colorado Economic & Market Update November 2009

The following presentation courtesy of Key Bank summarizes the economic outlook and market update here in Denver. In sum, the Denver market appears to be in between the latter stage of recession and the early stage of recovery or growth.

To stabilize growth inventories must be replenished and productivity restored. Sustainable econimic growth in Denver is still some distance away. Consumer spending and employment are essential to renewed growth and long term stability. The good news is there are clear signs that we are on the road to recovery.
