The Facts About Radon Gas in the Home – It’s Hazardous to Health

EPA LogoTweet ThisThe Environmental Protection Agency has declared January as National Radon Action Month.  The purpose is to help educate the public about the health hazards of radon gas in the home and to identify steps consumers can take to protect themselves.

The video below, courtesy of the EPA, is a good summary of the facts about radon and why it is a concern you should be aware of. Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and leads to 21,000 deaths every year. The surgeon general has declared radon a hazard and recommends that all homes be tested.
