Boulder Colorado’s Garden of the Gods, The View Looking Down

Boulder Colorado’s Garden of the Gods, The View Looking Down

This morning I posted some photos I took yesterday afternoon. My wife and I hiked the Red Rocks trail on the West side of Boulder and hung out in the sun for a few hours. The weather was fabulous and the sky was deep blue. You could almost feel spring knocking on the door.

This morning’s photos were mostly of the rock formations. Below are a couple of shots looking down on downtown Boulder and also Colorado University. You can see the stadium in the distance on the left side of the second photo. I also included one more photo of the rock formations.

Boulder is an awesome place to live, work and play.

Colorado Monday Morning Motivation: The Cup is Half Full

Colorado Monday Morning Motivation: The Cup is Half Full

Tweet ThisHere is a photo I took of the early morning sky over the Front Range in Boulder Colorado. The cloud patterns here can sometimes change quickly with the high wind currents coming in over the mountains.

It’s inspiring to look up and see the beauty of nature so vibrant, so dynamic and so alive. It reminds me that I, too, am a part of it all. My life is also vibrant, dynamic and alive. And the winds of change are constantly blowing and rearranging things.

In the present moment light of awareness I remind myself not to resist what is.

Go with the flow and enjoy life, in joy...and if ever you have trouble remembering that the cup is always--in all ways--half full, just look up…

Happy Monday Everyone…I hope your day and your week are super fantastic.

Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation, 11 January 2009

Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation, 11 January 2009

Tweet ThisI love living here in Colorado. Whenever I need a little inspiration or if I am not feeling as motivated as I would like to be, all I have to do is look up at the mountains and take it in. Here are a couple of photos that capture a little piece of that.

This morning’s photos were taken at two different times over the past month. The first photo shows El Dorado middle school in Superior which is just a couple of miles south of Boulder. Not a bad playground view, huh!

El Dorado

The second photo looks just to the right of the previous one. The colors in the sky were amazing that day. Of course, a photo could never do justice to the real thing. The whole sky was lit up like this. I guess you could call it a Kodak moment.

Boulder Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation, 4 January 2010

Boulder Colorado Monday Morning Mountain Motivation, 4 January 2010

Park SignTweet ThisGood morning and welcome to the beautiful mountain views of Boulder Colorado. We’ve had snow on the ground since a couple of days before Christmas and the temperatures have mostly been below freezing so everything is still under a white blanket.

The first photograph was taken from the Davidson Mesa Open Space on the Southeast side of town (Northwest edge of Louisville). The view in the photograph looks directly west across South Boulder at the Flatirons. Chautauqua Park is slightly to the right of the middle of the photograph.

The next two photographs were taken from Chautauqua Park on the West side of town. I was standing in the open space directly in front the larger Flatiron when I took them. The first photograph looks one frame North of the larger Flatiron and the second is one frame north of that.

The winter views of the mountains around Boulder have a way of bringing out their majestic qualities. Their beauty is a truly a sight to behold.

I wish you a happy and productive day and week as the New Year starts to kick into gear.

A Final Look at 2009 From Boulder Colorado

A Final Look at 2009 From Boulder Colorado

Tweet ThisThese are my last photographs of 2009 taken from opposite sides of Boulder Valley.

The first view is looking up at Long’s Peak which is 14,259 feet above sea level. It’s the largest peak in the area and can be seen from many angles all around Denver Metro. Downtown Boulder is in the foreground.

The second photograph was taken from a vista point overlooking the downtown area of Boulder just off of Baseline Road about halfway to Lost Gulch.

Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation

Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation

Tweet ThisI love living in Colorado partly because I never get tired of looking up. The mountains here are such a joy to behold. It’s much more than what I see that moves me. It’s what I feel when I look at them. I feel many things but inspired and motivated are at the top of the list. And I enjoy sharing that with others. For those of you who may have seen a few of my post, you know I use mountain photos quite often.

With changing light and weather patterns, there is always something different to see and feel. If the phrase, “a picture is worth a thousand words” applies to anything, then it applies to photographs of the Colorado mountains. The pictures themselves can bring on a joyous uplifting feeling.

So I decided to start a regular post on Mondays called, well, you probably guessed it, Colorado Monday Mountain Motivation. I hope that’s not too corny. I am open to suggestions if anyone would like to chime in.

Anyway, here are three mountain photos I took this past week in the area around Boulder.

Enjoy, in joy…

Boulder Colorado, Hiking the Amazing Flatirons on the West Side of Town

Boulder Colorado, Hiking the Amazing Flatirons on the West Side of Town

Tweet ThisIt is very cold outside right now. The last time I checked the temperature was around 3 degrees F and tonight it is supposed to get to -4 degrees. The predicted high for the week is 37degrees.

When it's cold like this, we need a little something to help us remember how nice the weather can be here in Boulder.

Here is a great video with some spectacular images of the Flatiron range stretched across the west side of town. The weather is nice and makes for some good arm chair hiking about the foothills.

Sit back, relax and take it in. Forget about the cold weather for a while and enjoy the scenery here in Boulder Colorado--a great place to live, work and play.

Boulder Colorado Caffe Sole: In Search of the Perfect Cup of Chai Tea

Boulder Colorado Caffe Sole: In Search of the Perfect Cup of Chai Tea

Caffe Sole Banner

Tweet ThisOne of the great things about living in Boulder is the many coffee shops dotted throughout the city. Starbucks’ success has left a market gap for locally owned coffee shops catering to those of us seeking a warm cozy place to hang out, chat, work and sip on our favorite beverage. Caffe Sole is just one of those kind of places.

Caffee Sole CounterLocated in South Boulder near Table Mesa and Broadway, Caffe Sole caters to a broad mix of students, consultants, writers, mothers, professional workers and about everyone else in between. I’ve enjoyed going there for the past three years.

Caffe Sole has what all of the great neighborhood coffee shops has—atmosphere. You can go in there just about any time of the week and carve out a little nest to hang, sip, read, write, chat with friends, or just day dream gazing at the Flatiron Range out the West windows.

Caffe Sole is a classic neighborhood coffee shop with a nice comfortable fit just like your favorite pair of jeans. The staff is friendly and the service is cheerful and prompt. The prices are all quite reasonable.

Caffee Sole LoungeMy favorite drink is Chai Tea. I fall in and out of love with coffee, but I have an ongoing love affair with Chai tea. For me, Caffe Sole has one of the best cups of Chai in Boulder. That’s because they serve Bhakti Chai, which is a locally made spicy ginger mix of fresh pressed ginger, organic black tea, and fiery spices.

“Rooted in Indian Ayuvedic healing, Bhakti is a masala chai that aims to warm and defend the body while giving a jolt of sweet clarity.”

Bhakti ChaiCaffe Sole is indeed a café with soul capturing the best of Boulder neighborhood coffee shops. If you’re in Boulder and you enjoy fine coffees and teas, be sure to stop by. The address is 637R South Broadway, Boulder, CO. Maybe I’ll see you there.

If you or someone you know are thinking about buying or selling a home in Boulder or Denver area, I can help. I know the area and the market quite well, and I can help you find a home that suits your needs and interest.
