There are also many restaurants that serve healthy food with a good feeling in terms of the atmosphere inside. But the really great restaurants in Boulder are the ones that combine character with great healthy food and a great atmosphere.

The Falafel King is among the great ones in Boulder.

Located on the Pearl Street Mall directly across from the Boulder County courthouse, the Falafel King has been a landmark in downtown Boulder for 29 years. Its character is ingrained in the setting inside. It’s not fancy and it’s not modern. It is simple, comfortable and warm. Simply put, the atmosphere feels as good as the food tastes.

Many selectionsSince its beginning in 1980, Falafel King has expanded to include three Denver locations. Additionally, they are now selling their trademark humus and salad mixes in grocery stores and health food stores throughout Denver Metro.

Falafel King upholds its original commitment to healthier, organic ingredients in the foods they prepare. With a focus on Mediterranean cuisine, the menu includes fresh garden vegetables, seasoned salads, a variety of humus mixes and gyros, which is special serving of slow cooked roasted lamb or beef.

But the flagship product is falafel, a mix of garbanzo beans, fresh vegetables and spices that are deep fried to perfection and served with fresh tahini sauce. Falafels are traditionally served as a sandwich in pocket bread or as a salad with an assortment of fresh vegetables and humus. Regardless of how it is served, falafel is a wholesome and healthy meal.

Hi John, I love falafel, hummus, gyros, etc.  When I lived in Houston it was easy to find this type of food.  San Antonio needs a restaurant like this.
