Early Morning Frozen Fog

Early Morning Frozen Fog

I was up before dawn this morning and noticed that a heavy fog had settled all around the area where I live. It’s rather unusual to see fog at this time of year. After I downed a cup of coffee I decided to go for an early morning hike in the open space near my house.

I bundled up and set off with my camera in hand to greet the morning. The fog had condensed on the plants and then froze creating a frosty layer of crystals seeming to glow with a brilliant white halo. I snapped a few photos along the way capturing a moment in time that quickly vanished as the sun came up and the fog lifted.

Wow! Those pictures are really something. Who would have thought that fog could freeze over haha. Hopefully your weekend is going well.

I hope you'll remember me if you learn of anyone moving to "The OC" and I will do the same!

John, what beautiful photos.  Looks more like snowcapped trees and bushes than frozen over fog crystals.

Looks like Jack Frost paid a visit to Boulder. I can really see the progression from fog to sunlight in your photos.
