I AM a tree…Do You see Me?
If You do, what is it that You see?
Am I a source of wood or a source of shade?
Am I an ornament of nature?
These things and more I would say
I AM a home to feathered Spirits of the wind
I AM refuge to the weary traveler
I AM a pause in your busy day
I AM a glance out of the corner of your eye
Most days you don’t see me at all…or so it seems
Do You see Me today?
I see You now as I look up toward the heavens
If only for a moment,
I See You…
I AM standing here, now even as You read…
In the place where I have always been
I have been right here most all the days of your Life
On good days and bad
Through good times and sad
I AM Here…
I survive when I can bend with the wind
As do you…
In some small way, I give you life
I absorb your pollution and I create the oxygen that you breathe
I AM Life itself looking back at you
There are days when I cast a shadow and days when I do not
There are some days I AM the shadow
I AM A Tree, Dear Friend…
Do You See Me?
If so, please tell…
What do you see?

I see....
This is very beautiful poem and was a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I see the beauty of nature against the sky...through generations of eyes.
Lovely,
Thank you for sharing!
I see a tree that has seen many, many days, months and years and with any luck will live to see many more John. Very nice poem, did you write it?
Carol, Paul, Citrus and Judi...Thank you for your comments.
Hi Wanda, Thank you too...yes, I wrote the poem about an hour ago.
Paul I see nature and something that sustain lfe. Thanks for sharing the photo.
we don't even notice the spiritual roots of the tree of life either...Have a great week John...Cherise
John ~ fabulous poem. I think sometimes I don't see the tree. Like so many things, we take a tree for granted, and that is sad. I will make sure I pay more attention!
Beautiful poem, well done, John. I love the barren trees - so much character.

Very nice poem, John.
Since I have a degree in Forestry from Texas A&M University, I'm always noticing trees. They are some of Mother and Father Nature's greatest creations.
