Bolder Boulder 10k Race
The Bolder Boulder 10k race was held here in Boulder Colorado yesterday. Officials said approximately 53,700 citizen runners and walkers participated in the race. The professional race was held after the citizens had cleared the course. Named America’s best 10k event by Runner’s World magazine’s December 2009 issue, the Bolder Boulder is billed as one of the largest Memorial Day events in the country.
The race started near 30th street and Iris and then followed a scenic tour of Boulder before ending at the Folsom Field Stadium on the Colorado University Campus. The event concludes with skydivers and a flyover of four military jets. It is an extraordinary event and seems to attract more people every year.
The photos below are the very last segment which featured the male professional racers. The winners of the men’s race were the Ethiopian team. I got a good shot of them at the beginning of the race where they quickly took the lead. They crossed the finish line hand-in-in and took first second and third place.
