Lily Pads Reaching for the Sun
Last week I hiked to Cub Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a five mile hike round-trip from the train entrance. The lake was set among a very peaceful setting surrounded by spectacular mountain ranges. The entrance to the park is in Larimer County just a short drive from Boulder.
The lily pads were just beginning to emerge. You could see them rising up from under the water stretching to reach the sun. I was captivated by the simplicity of their beauty. Soon, the lake will be half full of them.
Have a wonderful Day.

John - There is something about Lily Pads and either ducks or frogs, that create the quintessential country seen. Great photos - Congratulations for having this blog featured in the "Photos" group!
The hike was well worth the beauty that surrounds you at the lake. Amazing photos of the birth of the Lily Pads.
John, .....the lake will be full of them and with their wonderful flowers. Nice photos. Thanks.

That is really a neat photo!
What? No frogs or turtles on the lily pads? Now that's just wrong =P Very cool pictures. Makes me miss my childhood when we lived on the river.
John,
Those are some amazing shots of the lily pads. I especially enjoyed the one with the duck in it. ;)
