Balance
Balance is one of my favorite words. I believe we need to find healthy balance in both our personal and professional lives. Balance in diet, exercise and recreation means we strive to meet our needs without excess or over indulgence. Emotional balance means we maintain a level of sensitivity without allowing our emotions to interfere with our better judgment.
There is balance in nature too. The river rock art below mimics the balance in nature in a most beautiful way. The photos were taken at Boulder Creek near downtown Boulder. When the wind blows or the water rises, the rocks will return to the riverbed and another form of balance will be restored.

Is it all about balance or is it about passion? You can accomplish much more with passion but at what cost because of the lack of balance in your life.
John, nice post! I like the analogy!
Hi John, I recently wrote a post about balance and I used a photo of the rocks in balance at the Bay over the 4th of July Big Bang Celebration. I am still totally fascinated with the way this is done.
John, those are awesome photos! I have seen rocks stacked like that in the desert, but never in a river. Balance can be precarious at times, just like real life. Great post,
John - great post and it is imperative to have balance in your life. I like the analogy as well, and love the photos.
It's a wonderful skill that the artist has to find each balance point and combine these so they're aesthetically pleasing. Nice shots, John!
What a wonderful, thought provoking post! I almost missed it!!!
