Boulder Forest Fire: More Evacuations Possible

Boulder Forest Fire: More Evacuations Possible

Officials hope to achieve up to 40% containment of the Boulder Forest Fire overnight but the optimistic outlook it tempered by a prediction of high winds in the area. Weather reports are warning of wind gusts up to 50+ mph this evening blowing out of the west directly toward the city of Boulder.

As a result fire officials are warning of the possibility for additional evacuations. The area of concern is within Boulder city limits West of Broadway, North of Spruce and South of Dakota Ridge. Visit the Boulder DailyCamera website for additional information.

The Boulder Forest Fire has now been labeled the worst in Colorado history. The map below is an ‘unofficial’ schematic of the burn area.

John--I hope you & your family are safe.  I can't even imagine what your area is going through.

It is all over now. Evacuees are being allowed to return home today, that's if there's a home left, if the building didn't make it, they still have the land, but now the area is all barren, I'm sure land has lost some value. It must be a very depressing sight, oh well they still have their lives and their families, they will keep on living.
